PLOT / OVERVIEW :

Kalathil Sandhipom is a Tamil movie, written and directed by N Rajasekar. Produced by RB Choudary under the banner Super Good Films.

REVIEW :

Director Rajsekar presses the genre hardly in the initial bits by not giving false hopes about the content . Character establishment has been done well for all the 4-5 main roles, moves quick into the main plot. Though the ambience was well set for this genre, still the director pulls out the basic factors and presses the establishments too hard which was bit unnecessary. The comical one-liners from Jiiva is something that stood positively in the first half along with U1’s work. Dinesh Ponraj’s editing was crisp and clear and infact converted few laggy portions into watchable ones. Though , the time taken to show the bond between Jiiva and Arul is bit high, the upcoming sequences between them was good to watch with flawless writing. Jiivi gives heavy scope to Arul to perform including the action sequences and etc, but still Jiivi stole the show with his timely one-liners.

The bonding , Chemistry and the dialogues between these two made the film stand odd from regular village DRAMA.

Just like the first half , the second half moves on by pressing the characters but this time it is the female leads (PBS And Manjima Mohan ) . Few minor twists worked out well along with an other set of good songs in the second half as well from U1. Lyrics from Viveka was applaudable and the song montages that featured PBS was pleasing to watch , which was quite unexpected. Other than that, This second half is a carbon copy of first half which has good laughter , entertainment , one-liners along with some laggy portions.

CAST PERFORMANCES :

Arul Nithi scores well in the given heroic scope that had good action sequences and important dialogues. Jiivi is completely found here as a “CHILL PANNU MAPPI” kind off character , scores very well in his one-liners and emoted out well in the needed sequences. Priya bhavani Shankar adds a lot to the movie watching experience with some beautiful montage moments. Manjima Mohan does justice to the role given to her and scores well in 2-4 very important scenes. Other artists like RoboShankar and etc have done well and have done justice to the roles given to them. No notable faces has been missed out without a minimum scope to perform.

OVERALL VERDICT :

This Kalathil Sandhipoom is not a regular village drama content with lots of clichés , this is proper sensible drama with good dialogues , characters and a comically a passable movie. GO for it without expectations, there are huge chances for you to like it even though you avoid this genre.
